My Name is Rachel Corrie
My Name is Rachel Corrie was created from the personal journal entries, emails, and writings of the young activist Rachel Corrie after her death in 2003 while trying to stop an Israeli bulldozer in the Palestinian residential area of Rafah. Countdown to Zero chose this play as an artistic vehicle to facilitate community dialogue about the issues in the play, and, here in Denver, we offered post-show talk backs and panel discussions in order to address the issues raised in the play and to encourage fair and honest conversation and reflection. The results were thought-provoking and poignant.
At the request of peace organizations in the region, Countdown to Zero is now announcing an extended tour of this play. Our company is passing through states in the Midwest and West in April and May, and would love to partner with local peace groups for a performance of this play in your area. In Denver, we worked with local organizations who offered this production in conjunction with other fundraising efforts. This could be an exciting opportunity for your organization and other groups in your region and we could use your help.
